Homemade Pie Crust!
So today I decided to make a pie crust! I thought about how I would make one when I used to use flour. So I thought I’d do it the same way! I took much less coconut flour though. You’d use like a cup or more of flour for just one pie. Well for mine I used only 4 tbsp of coconut flour and equal amounts of water. I did add butter though! 🙂
Anyways, you want the recipe?
Ingredients:
- 4 tbsp Morning Pep Coconut Flour
- 2 tbsp Soft Butter
- 4 tbsp Cold Water
- 1 tsp Baking Powder
- 1/4 tsp Onion Powder
- 1/4 tsp Garlic Powder
- 1/4 tsp Salt
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees and prep your pan. I used non stick foil and the pan was just a simple tin pan I saved from something years ago. I do those kinds of things, lol! I also sprayed the non stick foil with butter spray just to make sure it crisped up and it did!
Next put your coconut flour, baking powder and seasonings in a small bowl, I used a cereal size bowl. Then add the two tablespoons of softened butter and simply fork it until it’s like coarse crumbs!
Then add in the 4 tbsp of cold water. It will be crumby still, but you can press it into the dish and it will stay!
Bake for about 6 -7 minutes it will still be white in color and that’s fine. Fill your crust with your filling what ever you want too and bake the required time.
Enjoy!
