Bacon & Cheese Sandwich Bread!

Let me first off say how freaking delicious this is! Adding the shredded cheese added another layer of toughness so the bread isn’t so soft and meringue like.  I think adding the bacon helped too.  So for this recipe you will only need a few ingredients and unbelievable not one of them will be flour!

Ingredients:
3 eggs, separated
2 oz cream cheese, softened (great value brand)
1/2 tsp cream of tartar
3/4 tsp or less of onion powder (adjust to your preference by tasting)
3/4 tsp or less of garlic powder (adjust to your preference by tasting)
1/8 tsp black pepper (adjust to your preference by tasting)
1/4 tsp salt (adjust to your preference by tasting)
4 slices cooked chopped bacon
1 cup shredded cheese (great value fiesta blend is what I used)s)

Directions:
You’ll need to preheat the oven to 300 degrees and prepare a silicone baking mat or use a non stick foil lined pan.

Put egg whites and cream of tartar in stand mixer and whip on high around 3 – 4 minutes until stiff almost dry peaks form.

While that’s mixing stir softened cream cheese with egg yolks and seasonings. Mix until smooth!

Next add cheese and bacon to egg yolks and mix until all is incorporated.

Pour yolk mixture into the egg whites and fold them in carefully not deflating the egg whites.

This will make 6 nice sized little breads.  They do not rise, but slightly spread not a lot though! If they are close they’ll be okay!  Bake in the preheated oven for 40 minutes, turn off the oven and take them out and place on a rack or your oven rack and leave them in there until oven is cooled! This part is important to toughen up the breads!

Once done place cooling rack and I put them back in oven with door cracked cause my cats lol

They are so good! Try them add whatever you like just nothing to add water like tomato would be a NO, NO! lol ham, bacon, cheese, hell add pepperoni cut up.  The possibilities are endless! Just remember no or low carb and high fat!

There are six of these so I would say a serving would be 1 half of a sandwich. When I made it the first time I couldn’t even eat the whole sandwich only ate half. So I think it’s sufficient if not then double intake!

I try to get hubby to eat low carb, but he just HAS to have bread for burgers, etc. Going to try making these next time we grill out!
