Chicken & Cheese Bread Sticks!

DSCF5119

Ingredients:
1 c packed cooked diced chicken
3/4 c Shredded Mozzarella
1 tbsp melted butter
1/4 tsp basil
1/4 tsp oregano
1/4 tsp marjoram
2 grated garlic cloves

Directions:
Preheat oven 375 degrees place some non stick foil in a 8 inch square pan. Put Chicken in food processor and pulse a few times until coarse like crumbs, add cheese and pulse more. You want it to be loose and dry looking, not a mush or pate. Pack it in the bottom of the pan and bake for 10 minutes. In the meantime simmer up the butter and grated garlic cloves so the flavors infuse. After 10 minutes of baking pull out the Chicken & Cheese bread sticks brush lightly with the garlic butter mixture. Sprinkle the remaining ingredients evenly on top and bake another 12 minutes. Remove the foil and food from the pan and cut in half then in small stripes across. Let cool on a rack and serve.

This makes like 24 bread sticks.

This is great for low carb diets which I am on for life (diabetic) but the fat content is a bit high for me. Sounds delicious–I may try them anyway!

If you’re on low carb there is nothing wrong with taking in the fat, it makes your body use any of the stored fat, causing weight loss. Amazingly it really works! I am trying to take in less than 20 carbs a day and most days I’m taking in way less than 20.

This is interesting. I will try to cook this. If my daughter will like it, I will prepare this for her bday party.

These do look very yummy. I think I might have to try these. Be good with Tomato Soup. But probably defeating the purpose.
