By Marie LCHFDiva Baker Leave a Comment

When a company voluntarily recalls a product, markt withdrawal or a safety alert has been issued. The FDA will post about the company’s announcement as a public service. The FDA doesn’t endorse the company or the product.

Actual product information link about the recall (https://www.fda.gov/Safety/Recalls/ucm593835.htm). I pretty much rewrote some of their post and shared here. I kept seeing too many fear mongering posts going around that had numerous vegetables listed and was just wrong.

On Wed, 24 Jan 2018 22:58:00 -0500, the FDA announced that specific brands of vegetables were being recalled by the National Frozen Foods Corporation recalled several products. Frozen Green Beans and Frozen Mixed Vegetables because of a possible health risk.  The NFFC is voluntarily recalling a limited amount of not-ready-to-eat individually quick frozen green beans and mixed veggies, because of the possibility of Listeria monocytogenes contamination. This is an organism which can cause very serious sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with a weakened immune system.

Healthy individuals may suffer only short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain, and diarrhea, listeria infection is also known to cause miscarriages and stillbirths in a pregnant woman.

This press release includes recalled products distributed to foodservice accounts in bulk and packaged containers in AK, AR, AZ, CA, CO, FL, ID, IL, KS, MI, MS, MT, ND, NE, NM, NV, OR, TN, TX, VA, and WA.
