Now You Can #RecycleYourPeriodPad!

As a woman one thing you don’t want to worry about is a little bit of #LBL and it happens to a lot of us after having children, surgeries or even from gaining weight.  In my case it was a combo of both weight and childbirth.  So I do have the occasional cough or sneeze I cannot contain.  I don’t often talk about this, but it’s true and I’m not embarrassed, but just not as young as I used to be!  I used to use my period pads for when I go out and am afraid there could be longer time frames between bathroom usage.  I decided to try the new Poise Thin-Shaped Pads! WOW Amazing is what they are! Perfect fit and the shape is also nice and thin, no bunching up.  These are fantastic and I’m so glad I decided to try them.

Now what will I do with my old period pads? Well since we have a septic system we don’t pour grease down the drain like I would in the city.  I would fill the sink up with super hot soapy water and pour the grease in the sink and let it go down the drain.  Now here I can’t do that so I always fill up cans.  Now I can just use the remaining period pads as my grease catcher! They hold the grease very good and you can just put the whole thing in the trash, without any worries of spilling something that’s so full! 🙂

Now you can do something with them old period pads! You can #RecycleYourPeriodPad

Also since Mother’s Day is just around the corner you could make her a stuffed character for Mother’s Day just like when you were a kid! 🙂 I made these for my Grandma! I stuffed them with my old period pad’s cotton! How cool is that!  You need some old material of some kind, a couple kinds one for clothes one for skin.  Lots of sewing involved, but stuffing it with that old period pad cotton was brilliant! Have fun and make something with your old or #RecycleYourPeriodPad after you get your poise coupon and buy some!

WHAT IS LBL?
-One in three women experience Light Bladder Leakage (LBL) – little leaks that can be triggered by everyday occurrences like coughing, sneezing, laughing and exercise.
-Weak pelvic floor muscles, pregnancy, childbirth and weight gain are just a few LBL contributors.
WHAT CAUSES LBL?
Just as no two women are alike, there’s no single reason that LBL happens. Some of the most common things that lead to uninvited leaks include:
•Physical changes from childbirth, pregnancy, hysterectomy or menopause
•Being overweight
•Complications from surgery, stroke, or chronic diseases like diabetes, multiple sclerosis (MS) or Parkinson’s disease
•Bladder or urinary tract infections
•Bladder irritants (certain foods and beverages)

Women deserve the best options for managing LBL. Whether you leak a little when you laugh, or sometimes have a sudden urge to go, Poise gives you one less thing to worry about any time of day or night.
